The
official start of the poker run was 09:30, and not a minute earlier, as we were
constantly reminded by the official in charge of registration. So as entrants
arrived early, they were all reminded of this. Kind of an interesting person,
must have been a drill sergeant in the army. So at the designated time, we all
lined up, were given the poker run directions, our poker hand punch card, and
off we went. The first stops were easy, the last three not so as we had to be
careful of road changes. Still we made it, revealing a lousy poker hand, and
rode back to the village.

Yamaha Lake George cruise:
For the
evening it was a Yamaha sponsored boat cruise on Lake George. This lasted about
2 hours, a buffet (pretty good), an oldish rock group (very good), and a cruise
up and back on the lake. The scenery was mainly passing large, and not so large,
summer residences, kind of like a scaled down version of the Ontario Muskokas.
It was a dry evening though, so it was a worthwhile experience to see the lake
up close. As we walked back to the motel, it started to rain, as per the weather
forecast, and gave a foretaste of
tomorrow’s wet ride.
